About The ContainersShipping containers can vary in shape and size and even quality. Many people don't know this, so we want to explain the differences. The most common sizes ordered are 20' and 40' containers. These are the most widely manufactured and are often cheapest to ship around Orlando.
Some of our customers have high expectations and standards for their storage container and thus prefer a new one. We have those for you. Other people just want a quick watertight storage trailer and we can provide more affordable options for those customers too. Check out our Frequently Asked Questions page for other great details. |
Quality Options For The Containers
Technically, there's no true standard rating system across the country that determines the quality of a shipping container. There's some common practices and acceptable metrics most companies use to advertise and leverage for warranties. Our Buyer's Guide will be a great resource for you too. Here's what terms we like to use with our customers:
New Containers (One Trip)
This is as close as you can get to brand new right off the assembly line. Sea containers are built overseas and then shipped to the US on large cargo ships. When you buy a "new" shipping container in Orlando FL, it means it will have the smallest amount of travel miles on it. You will be the first person to use the container after it's trip from overseas, but it's not made in America so it will have one trip of use on it.
Cargo Worthy (CW)
The next level we call Cargo Worthy which means they are still in excellent shape even though they clearly show signs of use. They still meet the standards and expectations of the international shipping industries and can be used for travel overseas with important shipments. These containers might have bumps and paint chips, but they are in top shape still and will look great upon arrival.

Wind & Watertight (B Grade)
B Grade shipping containers are usually a little older and have had quite a few trips around the world. They've made their mark in the shipping industry but are more than capable. They likely have some bigger dents and rust forming but still get inspected and achieve the WWT stamp of approval. We recommend this style for people just looking for easy and basic storage, but not necessarily looking to showcase the container. It'll take work to make this container ready to paint and look fresh again.
As Is Condition (C Grade)
We do not recommend this type of shipping container for our customers. It comes with no warranties of any kind. It is simply as box of metal that likely has holes and rust beyond normal wear and tear. It is unlikely for these types of containers to keep out water or animals which is the biggest reason we don't recommend them.
